Bivona
Founded in the 12th century as a Muslim hamlet, and elevated to a ducal city in the 16th century, Bivona is located between the slopes of Monte delle Rose and the valley of the Magazzolo river. The city boasts, in addition to its centuries-old history, a central position for the entire area of the Sicani Mountains and excellent products such as the Pescabivona IGP, or Pesca Montanarina, to which an important festival is dedicated every year in August.
The center, an hour away from Palermo and an hour from Sciacca, hosts the high schools, the local health district ASL and the peace court.
